# Your first steps

What to do in your first hour on Cobblemon AU.

{% hint style="info" %}

<p align="center">Every visit starts in the <strong>Hub lobby</strong>. From there you can grab a starter, pick up a free kit, and head to Survival to build your first base.</p>
{% endhint %}

***

## 🐾 1. Get started

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Choose your starter

Press **M** when you first join to open the starter screen and pick your partner.

If you already caught or were given a Pokémon before choosing, put it in a PC so your party is empty, then press **M** again.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Claim the Starter kit

Type `/kits` on the Hub and choose **Starter**. You'll get:

* a stone axe, pickaxe and shovel
* a **golden hoe** (this is your land claim tool)
* 32 torches
* 20 Poké Balls

You can claim it again every 30 days.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Head to Survival

Type `/survival` to go to the main world. Use `/rtp` to be dropped somewhere random in the wild, then find a spot you like.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Claim your land and set a home

Hold the golden hoe and mark two opposite corners of your base to claim it. Then stand inside and type `/home set <name>` so you can always get back with `/home tp <name>`.

There's more detail in the [FAQ](/cobblemon-au-docs/getting-started/faq.md) under "Claiming land and homes".
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="success" %}
✅ Once your base is claimed and your home is set, you're ready to explore.
{% endhint %}

# Agent Instructions
This documentation is published with GitBook. GitBook is the documentation platform designed so that both humans and AI agents can read, navigate, and reason over technical content effectively. Learn more at gitbook.com.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://cobblemon-au.gitbook.io/cobblemon-au-docs/getting-started/first-steps.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
